Why Compare More Than Just the Advertised Price?

When comparing bariatric surgery providers, it is important to understand exactly what is included in the quoted price.

Our packages include:

  • Surgeon fees
  • Anaesthetist fees
  • Surgical assistant fees
  • Gastroscopy performed before or during surgery when clinically indicated
  • Routine perioperative bariatric surgical care

Many clinics advertise surgeon fees only. Additional charges may apply elsewhere for:

  • Anaesthetist fees (commonly ranging from $500 to $2,000)
  • Surgical assistant fees
  • Gastroscopy procedures

Many of our surgical assistants are experienced bariatric surgeons, and their fees are included in our package pricing.

Dietitian consultations are not included. The standard dietitian package fee is approximately $350 and includes:

  • One 60-minute pre-operative consultation
  • Two post-operative review consultations

Self-Funded Patients

The self-funded prices displayed on this website are intended as a guide only.

Hospital charges vary between private hospitals and between individual admissions. As a result, the final cost may differ from the estimated package price.

The quoted self-funded price represents the total package cost before Medicare rebates.

Patients with a valid Medicare card will usually receive Medicare rebates following surgery. Depending on the procedure performed, rebates are typically in the range of $1,000 to $1,500.
